What was to become Katerberg VerHage started in 1953 as a modest peat farm. Brothers, Hank and John Katerberg, founded the company and grew it into a commercial and residential landscape company that employed 10 people. Hank’s son Norm joined the business and together with Tom VerHage, purchased the firm in 1971. In the ensuing years, clients asked for more services and Katerberg VerHage responded. Katerberg VerHage now employs over 50 full time workers and has become one of the largest and most respected full service, sitework and landscape firms in West Michigan.
